This is not an open source license. It is source-available. The licensed work converts to the nominated Change License on the Change Date.
First: which BSL?
[VERIFY — BLOCKING. "BSL" is ambiguous and the two meanings are unrelated:
- Business Source License 1.1 (
BUSL-1.1) — source-available, non-production use only, converts on a change date. Used by MariaDB, HashiCorp, Sentry, CockroachDB. This is what this page assumes. - Boost Software License 1.0 (
BSL-1.0) — a short permissive open source licence, OSI-approved, closer to MIT than to anything above.
Confirm which is meant before publication. The only "Boost Software License" found in the local repositories was vendored third-party code inside rspamd-ads/contrib/, which suggests Business Source License is intended — but that is an inference, not confirmation.]
How it works
You may copy, modify, create derivative works, redistribute, and make non-production use of the licensed work. Production use requires either a commercial licence from us or an Additional Use Grant.
On the Change Date — or the fourth anniversary of first public distribution of that version, whichever comes first — that version becomes available under the Change License.
Parameters
BUSL-1.1 is a template. It grants nothing until these are completed, and they must be set per licensed work:
